2. Data We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Account Information: When you create an account through our authentication provider, we collect your email address, name, username, and if you sign up using social media accounts, we may receive profile information including links to your social media profiles.

Learning Content: We store the educational content you create, including decks, notes, note templates, card types, and individual cards generated from your templates.

Performance Data: We log your learning activity and performance during review sessions, including response times, accuracy, and study patterns to track your progress and optimize the spaced repetition algorithm.

Communications: We use your email address to send essential service communications such as password resets, account notifications, and study reminders when you’re due for review sessions. With your explicit consent, we also add your email to our marketing system to send you promotional updates and communications about our service.

3. How We Use Data

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

Service Provision: To provide and maintain our spaced repetition learning platform, including creating and managing your account, storing your learning materials, and delivering core platform functionality.

Learning Optimization: To track your study progress, calculate review schedules, and personalize the spaced repetition algorithm based on your performance data to optimize your learning experience.

Collaboration Features: To enable sharing and collaboration on study decks with other users, allowing you to share your educational content and access content shared by others.

We process your personal information based on the following legal grounds:

Contractual Necessity: We process your account information, learning content, and performance data as necessary to provide the services you’ve requested and fulfill our contractual obligations to you.

Legitimate Interest: We have a legitimate interest in analyzing service usage to improve our platform, ensure security, and develop new features. We balance this interest against your privacy rights and do not use your data in ways you would not reasonably expect.

Consent: We process your email address for marketing communications only with your explicit consent. You can withdraw this consent at any time by unsubscribing from marketing emails or contacting us directly.

Legal Compliance: We may process your information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.

5. Data Sharing

Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. Specific deletion procedures are outlined in Section 7 below.

Shared Content Handling: When you delete your account, educational content you’ve shared with other users will remain accessible to those users to preserve their learning experience. We remove system-level identifiers (such as your username and account ID) from this shared content, but we cannot remove identifying information you may have included within the content itself (such as your name in descriptions or personal references in study materials).

Important Note: Before sharing content, consider that it may persist after account deletion and could still identify you through information you’ve included in the materials themselves.
